Getting Adrenalin:

Get it from AMD and nobody else

Install the Adrenalin driver from AMD's official website. Do not download files marked as GPU drivers from unknown sources. Click the logo on the left to navigate to AMD's Driver Download site.

Install and Set Up

Launch the Adrenalin installer and allow the setup wizard to install. It is recommended to restart your computer after it is finished.

Must-Haves:

Accessing Adrenalin Via Desktop

Once installed, you can access Adrenalin by right-clicking on your desktop at any time. Once it is open, you may pin it to the taskbar if so inclined.

Adrenalin Home Page

When opened, Adrenalin will launch on the home tab. Note the top right card with the option to check for updates. Click it to install outstanding updates.

Updates bring additional features and functionality to your graphics card, but some technical previews or beta features may be unstable and prone to crashes.

>Settings

Once updated to the latest version, you can navigate into the Adrenalin settings by pressing the gear, or cog, in the top right toolbar. You can see your GPU and CPU details here.

>Settings>Display

Next, navigate to the "Display" Tab. Enable Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) if your monitor is so enabled. Your monitor is VRR compatible if it is FreeSync or GSync branded - but you may have to turn it on. Check your monitor's user manual to learn more.

While you are in the Display tab, consider a Display Color Enhancement such as Vivid Gaming.

>Performance>Tuning

Now that we have VRR enabled, we should enable AMD SmartAccess Memory (SAM). Click the "Performance" tab, then the "Tuning" page to reveal the AMD SAM option. It may be at the bottom of the page.

This allows your CPU to access the all of your dedicated GPU's memory for it's own purposes, and is essentially Resizable Base Address Register (ReBAR). This should yield you a performance increase across most modern games.

>Gaming>Graphics

Adrenalin has many driver-based features that can only be accessed in the application, and are not visible within the game. Next, we need to set optimal default gaming settings in the "Gaming" tab on the "Graphics" page.

The settings toggled on this page will be applied to all games upon startup. You can select custom Adrenalin settings on a per-game basis as well.

For most uses, it is recommended that only Radeon Anti-Lag and Radeon Enhanced Sync is enabled.
